Most of George Adamsons work is in copyright. The only exception is the group of pictures done as
an Official War Artist and sold to the British Government. These images, originally in Crown Copyright, are now
in the public domain. Their reproduction is allowed provided the holding institution is informed
beforehand and the appropriate acknowledgement line given. Adamsons War Artist pictures are listed on the
Work in Public Collections page.
Copyright for some of Adamsons work
lies with its publisher but mostly the copyright belongs to the artist. No work may be reproduced or
transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopy, recording or
any other information storage and retrieval system, without prior permission in writing from the George
Adamson Archive or the original publisher, according to ownership of the copyright.
Apply to the George Adamson Archive for details of copyright and of clearance fees where applicable.
